About The Sanctuary at Joe Pool Lake

The Sanctuary at Joe Pool Lake has lots ranging from a half-acre to 1 acre. Conveniently located just 20 minutes south of Downtown Dallas and 28 miles from Downtown Fort Worth, residents can enjoy the luxury of lakeside living while still being able to work and play in Dallas and Fort Worth.

The amenities at The Sanctuary are very attractive to perspective buyers. Tangle Ridge Golf Club, Lynn Creek Marina and Joe Pool Marina are all minutes away. Cedar Hill State Park offers mountain biking and hiking trails that can be enjoyed any day during the week. There are also six city parks where the whole family can participate in recreation and competitive sports.

What our property owners are saying

What attracted you to The Sanctuary at Lake Ridge?
There were several things that attracted  us to Lake Ridge but the initial attraction was the lot size. A 1+ acre lot is not that easy to come by in the metroplex, so we loved the idea of being able to build our dream home, with the space that we wanted in a location that still provided a convenient commute to work.
- Quincy & Andria, Fort Worth, Texas

What do you like about the location of the community and its proximity to the surrounding area?
We love the convenience to shops and restaurants. Lake Ridge is in close proximity to several vibrant suburban cities.
- The Lockett Family, Cedar Hill, Texas

What features do you love about your property?
The lake view is beautiful and the neighborhood is gated. Our property sits up high so we will have a nice view when our home is complete.
- Tom & Beth, Mansfield, Texas

Grand Prairie works hard, according to a new list put out by the Movoto Real Estate blog. The list evaluates the top mid-sized cities and Texas occupies 3 spots, including number 5, Grand Prairie.

This isn’t the first time for Grand Prairie to make national headlines. The city has been named one of the best places to live, it’s home to popular venues like Lone Star Park and Verizon Theatre and it’s booming with growth and activity.

What Makes a City Hard Working?

Movoto lists 4 main criteria when ranking top cities, they include:

  • The percentage of people working more than 35 hours per week
  • Unemployment rate
  • Commute time to work
  • The number of working parents

Work Hard, Play Hard

Lake Ridge at Joe Pool Lake is the perfect destination to relax and unwind after a long work day. The Sanctuary at Lake Ridge has been recognized as a top lakeside community close to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Operation Finally Home Kalish

Notes of love and encouragement were added to the framing of Ken Kalish’s home at Lake Ridge at a recent event

Progress continues on the mortgage-free home at Lake Ridge for Marine Sgt. Ken Kalish.

This home is being made possible thanks to Operation FINALLY HOME (OFH), Lake Ridge, SouthStar Communities, the Dallas Builders Association, Former NFL Players Association and Victory Custom Homes. Gracious donations of money, time, and resources also continue to come in for Marine Sgt. Kalish, and the recent Patriot’s Cup golf tournament at Lake Ridge raised important funds. Kalish is an American hero who suffered multiple injuries resulting in the amputation of three limbs during his second tour of duty and who will soon be a proud resident of Lake Ridge.

Kalish’s home is being built on a scenic rise overlooking Joe Pool Lake in The Sanctuary at Lake Ridge, an exclusive gated community on the shores of the renowned Joe Pool Lake. The new custom home is under construction on a one-acre, treed property in one of the area’s prime hotspots for relaxation and recreation.

Operation FINALLY HOME provides mortgage-free homes to wounded and disabled veterans and their families. Founded by CNN Top 10 Hero for 2010 Dan Wallrath, OFH has provided more than 40 homes to veterans throughout the country. This new mortgage-free home at Lake Ridge is the 10th with SouthStar Communities; homes are also currently being built in the SouthStar Communities of Vintage Oaks in the Texas Hill Country and King Oaks in Bryan-College Station. CNN is documenting the building of Kalish’s mortgage-free home at Lake Ridge for a new special.

OFH was recently selected to participate in the Newman’s Own Foundation’s “Honoring Those Who Serve Challenge.” The challenge, which runs through November 11, offers the charity that raises the most money a $75,000 grant! You can donate here.

As progress continues on the mortgage-free home at Lake Ridge, resources are still needed. Anyone wishing to join the list of volunteers for OFH at Lake Ridge can do so at Lake Ridge.

The Texas State Fair is going on now.

The Texas State Fair is going on now.

Round up the family and bring your appetite, because the 127th Texas State Fair is underway. It’s Time for the Texas State Fair, just 30 minutes from Lake Ridge, giving Lake Ridge residents a short ride to the fairgrounds and those who are looking to tour the community an easy way to fit everything in during one weekend. You have until Oct. 20 to experience all the fun, flavors, and frenetic energy of the Fair.

You’ll have a hard time missing Big Tex on your way in. The newly rebuilt iconic mascot of the Fair (the previous incarnation, which had stood since 1952, was lost in an electrical fire last year) is bigger and heavier. He’s now three feet taller at 55 feet tall, weighs 25,000 pounds, can withstand 100 mph winds, and is fire-retardant. His, which have become one of many Big Tex conversation pieces since his unveiling the day before the Fair opened, feature the Texas state flower and bird, the Texas and U.S. flags, and the Texas Capitol. (You can buy a real pair of the Lucchese boots for $10,000, if you’re so inclined.)

The Dallas Morning News has a great account of the engineering feats and spy-style secrecy involved in building the new Big Tex and keeping him under wraps until the official reveal.

May people come to the Fair for the food, and this year the noted choices include the Deep-fried Cuban Roll, award-winner for best taste, and the fFried Thanksgiving dinner, the winner of most creative.

The Cuban roll is filled with chopped ham, pork shoulder, cheese and pickles, while the Thanksgiving dinner includes stuffing, turkey and cream corn . Consult the Fair’s food map so you don’t miss out on your favorite fried delicacy.

Also at the fair this year are the auto show, the Maytag Celebrity Kitchen, the garden show, the Midway and rides, and daily entertainment including music from Kelly Rowland and Kacey Musgraves.

You can get all the details on the Fair’s main page.

The Texas State Fair, just 30 minutes from Lake Ridge, is a Dallas staple. So to is this incredible community on Joe Pool Lake, offering an incomparable lifestyle that is equal parts relaxing and recreational haven. The final neighborhood development in Lake Ridge on the shores of Joe Pool LakeThe Sanctuary offers pond-front sites and coveted shoreline-close properties from one-half to 1 acre in a gated environment featuring panoramic lake and skyline vistas. Five homes will soon be built in The Sanctuary, including one for wounded veteran Ken Kalish in partnership with Operation FINALLY HOME, Lake Ridge developer SouthStar Communities, the Former NFL Players Association, the Dallas Builders Association, and Victory Custom Homes.
